Identity & other work

In highschool, most of my work  explored the theme of identity. I was interested in how people are made of places, how they might be defined by their situations, and how they could become re-defined. Both visually and conceptually, I investigated the relationships between natural/physical landscape and the human body-being. I was heavily influenced by my parents' work in ministry and the stories of people's lives I heard through them, which revealed disheartening inequalities and injustices of our world. I wanted to express and share the hope that our identity doesn’t have to be defined by circumstance, but that a new identity can be found and forged through learning and loving communities.
